1.) Timelines/
Deadlines
|
·
The Swedish Vallhund of
America, Inc. Newsletter is to be printed a minimum of 4 times per year in:
·
Winter
(January/February)
·
Spring (April/May)
·
Summer (July/August)
·
Fall (October/November)
·
Deadlines decided upon as
editor deems necessary
·
A notation shall be included
in the editorial section of each issue as to material submission deadlines
for the next newsletter.
·
Urgent situations may require
a delay in receipt of the Newsletter |

2.)
Distribution/
Content |
·
The newsletter
is to be distributed to members, other clubs and certain persons as directed
by the Board.
·
To be published
is news about club activities including specialties, boosters, sanctioned
matches, fun matches, herding, etc. Other areas include articles of
interest as determined by the editor and membership interests. |

3.) Truthfulness |
·
The Swedish Vallhund Club of
America, Board, or Editors(s) take no responsibility to the truthfulness or
articles or advertisements, nor do they necessarily agree with opinions
expressed in articles or advertising |
|
4.) Editing/
Permissions |
·
Any article must
be submitted with written permission by the author and/or appropriate
party. Contact information and approval must accompany the article
at time of submission.
·
All articles are
subject to editing.
·
Final
decision in any editing is left to the Newsletter Editor with input from
others as deemed necessary.
·
Material
submitted by the SVCA Board or AKC Contact person regarding official club
business shall be included subject only to grammar and layout editing.

5.) Disclaimers |
·
The editorial section of the
newsletter shall contain this statement:
“The SVCA is not
responsible for any statements or claims made by its contributors nor does
the SVCA necessarily agree with the opinions expressed in the articles or
advertising. The SVCA reserves the rights to edit all copy and make
editorial comments where necessary and deemed appropriate by the editor.
The SVCA reserves the right to refuse items submitted for publication.
Written permission must be received and granted by the SVCA to reprint any
editorial material outside of SVCA auspices, contributors reserve all rights
to their articles and permissions must be granted by them for reprint
purposes. “ |

6. ) Right of
Refusal |
The SVCA
Newsletter Editor reserves the right to refuse any advertisement or
article. This is to be based upon preserving the image and interest of the
SVCA, and is to be discussed with the Board before a decision is made. All
rejected material(s) (excluding those sent electronically) and check(s) will
then be returned to the sender. |

7.) Other rights |
The SVCA Newsletter
Editor also reserves the right to limit space, correct erroneous
information, change typeface or size to fit space available |
|
8.) Return of
materials |
Materials and pictures
that are to be returned by the Editor after use, must be accompanied by a
self-addressed prepaid envelope. While the publishers will take all
reasonable care, they will not take responsibility for the loss or damage to
any photo, drawing, or article. |

9.) Classified Ads |
A Classified Ad Section
will be included. Fees for various types of advertisements will be set by
the Board in conjunction with the Newsletter Committee |

10. )Advertisements |
Advertising in the SVCA
newsletter shall be labeled as such. Advertising must be paid in full prior
to publication, with monies sent to SVCA Treasurer, in US funds. |

11.) Expenses |
After the
newsletters have been sent out, the editor will send receipts of expenses to
Treasurer for reimbursement
Costs of
publication, including but not limited to supplies, printing and postage,
will be reimbursed in a timely fashion. The member distributing the issue
may request an advance from the Treasurer of up to 90% of the projected
costs within forty-five (45) days prior to distribution of each issue.
Publication cost receipts to be forwarded to Treasurer within forty-five
(45) days of issue date. Receipts received later than 45 days will require
approval by a Board member before reimbursement is issued. Any unused
advanced funds must be returned to the Treasurer within this timeframe.

12.) Other
Information |
The
newsletter editor will maintain a dedicated email address for receipt of all
Newsletter related correspondence with a designated back up email address as
needed. The dedicated email address will be checked twice weekly at a
minimum.
Board
correspondence shall be noted as being from President, Secretary, or Board,
as applicable. |

13.) National
Specialty information |
National
Specialty: Show Chair is responsible to forward show results, professional
photographs of all major wins, judges critiques, candid photos, etc.

14.)
Board/Committee Submissions |
·
Club Secretary
to forward applicable correspondence, reports, minutes, etc.
·
Breeder’s
directory will be forwarded directly from committee responsible for
maintaining information.
·
Member contact
changes will be forwarded by membership chair. Membership chair will also
forward updated electronic membership lists, mailing labels, etc.
·
The Secretary
shall provide dates of future board meetings.
·
Awards Chair
will forward year end club awards and all Swedish Vallhund AKC titles
received the proceeding year (for the Winter issue).
·
Winter Issue
will include the Year- End Treasurer’s Report as supplied by the Treasurer.

material to be supplied per deadlines as published. |
