AKC Update
October, 2002
There has been a great deal of misinformation
concerning the SVCA's status with AKC. First, as the Club's liaison to
FSS, I am the one with whom Elaine Dowart communicates. Individuals
concerned about our status should contact me at fromar@aol.com
or (410) 987-5233. You can imagine the drain on her time trying to answer
status questions from individuals associated with the 40+ breeds on FSS.
Second, the decision as to which breeds to move into the miscellaneous class is
the AKC Board's decision. Whenever they decide to do so, the national club
is notified. If there is any change in our status, as President, I will request
the Secretary to inform all club members immediately. We will then post
the information on the website.
