AKC Interim Response
On May 5, 2003, Elaine Dorwart of AKC reasserted to me
that there were many changes occurring in the AKC registration process and
that she was unable to give any specific responses to our questions until that
process is settled out. She expects to be able to speak more frankly with us
within about two months. She reported that we had 419 dogs registered
and that we appear to be moving in the direction where AKC " would be
wanting to work more seriously with the SVCA towards the full AKC recognition
process." Ms. Dorwart states that the AKC Board minutes of 4/03 re:
'possibility of FSS enrolled dogs competing in some Companion and
Performance events" is correct and states that the AKC Board
has all materials needed for this consideration and requests that current
SV owners/enthusiasts NOT contact AKC regarding this matter.
