WE MADE IT TO OUR FIRST MAJOR STEP!!!!
Received official confirmation this morning, 4/12/05, that we are accepted
into AKC MISC class as of September 1, 2005.
Thank you all for your membership, patience, contributions.....and working
with the board to get all our documents in order.
We will need to revise a few things in the bylaws per AKC. All revisions
must be ratified by vote by members. Examples: Things pertaining to AKC must
be in brackets till we are fully recognized; a phrase or two that was missed
in the wording like instead of 'member', it must say 'member in good
standing'; changing back to secret ballot for membership applications due to
legalities pointed out by AKC. Once AKC reviews the wording, we will get this
out to you for vote.
As we progress through this next year, we'll need to do more work to get
ready for full recognition. We may be in MISC class 1 to 3 years. I'll let you
know what we're working on as soon as I'm notified.
We will receive an official letter from AKC regarding our acceptance to
MISC class which will contain some further information. Once I have this, I
will write up a notice about where we stand and what we need to do which will
go into our next newsletter.
Again, thanks SO much for all of your patience and support.....it has meant
a lot to me as I've worked with AKC for our Club and our wonderful SV's.
